Tacoma's Treasured Halloween Tradition. On October 31st, for almost 100 years, Tacomans have come together on the streets of Proctor. A trick-or-treating parade of ghosts, goblins, giggles and gore. This is a long-established event. A celebration of our community, our artistic individuality and Tacoma's rich history. On behalf of the Proctor District Association, we look forward to seeing you again this year.
The Peaks and Pints 2022-23 house beer, Fort George Brewery Blue Mouse IPA, debuts at our Sixth Anniversary Party at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. In the early 1900s, John Hamrick opened the Blue Mouse Theatre for vaudeville and movies screenings in several Pacific Northwest cities, including Astoria in 1922 and Proctor District Tacoma in 1923, which is the only @bluemousenews still screening films. The Astoria Blue Mouse operated out of the same building where @fortgeorgebeer now brews their beer. Cool! Read the full historical story at peaksandpints.com, then stop by @peaksandpints on Tuesday for a pint of Blue Mouse IPA. Cheers!

This gathering has included participants from the Bahá’í, Buddhist, Roman Catholic, Center for Spiritual Living, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jewish, Muslim, Native American, Protestant, Sikh, Sufi, Unitarian Universalist and other faith traditions. INTERFAITH CHOIR One of the really fun parts of this gathering is the Interfaith Choir. This choir is open to anyone who would like to show up and sing! Each year the planning committee selects a song to be sung by this choir. Those wanting to participate will be asked to show up on the night of the event 30 minutes early to do a whirlwind practice. Then, during the service, the interfaith choir will perform the song. This year's song will be "Peace, Salaam, Shalom" and will be conducted by Cantor Geoff Fine. You can download the sheet music here. Also, you can view on YouTube the songwriter's version here (Emma's Revolution) or you can listen to it sung by the Denver Women's Chorus here.
